Life is full of beauty: Visiting Veronica

I've always have said that I don't have the patience and the gift to share with elders, but God decided to challenge me through a class in the seminary. I was asked to visit an elder during two months to share life with him/her and grow together in our relationship with God.

I was very skeptical at first, I didn't feel any excitement for this assignment. Even worse, I didn't have idea of whom I could visit. Then, I remembered that one of Potter's House programs (my workplace) is dedicated to the elderly who live in the garbage dump community of Guatemala. Therefore, I decided to ask for their help to visit a special old lady, Veronica, that I visited once with a Potter's House group.

Today was the day to visit Veronica again. She is an amazing lady who despite of the hardships of life, she has a positive attitude and great faith. Veronica lives with her grandchild, Antony, who lost both of his parents when he was still a baby. To see and hear the strength of women like Veronica, reminds me that we're never alone and that there is always hope.

I know that more than being a support for her, Veronica will be a great example for me. I'm looking forward for what the upcoming weeks will bring for Veronica and me.

1. Health and strenght 
2. Antony's success in life and school 
3. God's Provision 

"Since you have been chosen by God who has given you this new kind of life, and because of His deep love and concern for you, you should practice tenderhearted mercy and kindness to others" Col. 3.12

The Open Door

She sees the door is open,

It is inviting her to go outside,

To take another adventure,

To feel the fresh air and feel some freedom.

"It has been a long time"... she thinks

"It feels comfy inside.

Is it worthy to take the step and go out? 

Have I forgotten how does it feel to be outside?"

Suddenly, she hears That Voice again, and it says:

"Don't be afraid, I'll be out there holding you.

I've made you to do big things, 

and you only can achieve those big things

by getting out of your comfort zone"

She only smiles, because inside she knows That Voice is right.
